Charity Pro-Am

Horizon Golf is holding its annual charity Pro-Am at Cottingham Parks Golf Club on 28th and 29th June 2013.

Coming up to its 14th year, the day is a big attraction on the golfing calendar.

The proceeds from 2013 will go to the Forces Children's Trust, which helps children who have lost a parent while serving as a member of the British Armed Forces.

The two-day event, which has previously been screened on Sky Sports, regularly sees more than 40 teams taking part, making it one of the largest events in the North of England golfing calendar.

The event is sponsored by ESG and other businesses from the renewables industry, and culminates with a gala dinner at the Willerby Manor Hotel for more than 300 guests.

Chris Gray, Director of Golf at the club, said: "This will be our 14th year hosting this event, which is a source of great pride for the club. We are supporting the Forces Children's Trust for the third consecutive year, they are a fantastic charity, who make a real difference to these children's lives, and we are looking forward to supporting them once again."

The previous winning team was Bielby Plumbing and Heating with a score of 261, and the professional, Barry Taylor, from Lancashire club Houghwood, triumphed with a rounds of 67 and 71 for a six-under-par total and received a cheque for £5,000.
